What are your health goals over the next 60 days while still enjoying summer?

One for me is to enjoy the more relaxed pace of summer by really being present to my relaxation times; visiting with friends and family, mindful meditation daily and nourishing my nervous system and adrenals daily. The autonomic nervous system has two “arms” regulating the stress response: the “gas on” arm and the “relaxed in neutral” arm. It uses a lot of B vitamins daily to operate well and since B vitamins are water soluble and can’t be stored in the body, we need to have an intake every day from external sources. Folate, B12 and B6 are particularly heart protective, so optimal daily intake is not only needed for your nervous system but also to protect your heart as well.
Foods such as beets, spinach, barley, parsley, broccoli, asparagus, red peppers and mustard and collard greens are highest in Folate and B6, while calf’s liver and snapper are high in B12. If you’re Vegetarian, the last two won’t work for you, so supplementation becomes even more important!

Here’s some great information on Spinach, which has Daily Value (DV) of 66% for Folate and a little less for other B vitamins.

One quick way to get your daily B’s is to use Replenish/Hydrate daily (maximum two scoops per day) It tastes great in 3 amazing flavours and also has key electrolyte minerals that support many metabolic functions as well and helps with proper hydration during the summer heat and physical activity.
